Dental extractions are sometimes necessary when a tooth or teeth have a hopeless prognosis and cannot be saved. Hopeless teeth can be badly decayed, broken, and or become infected which can cause pain and affect one’s overall health and wellbeing. Fortunately, if you need an extraction our doctors can offer a multitude of dental procedures to restore your missing tooth or teeth like implants, dental bridges, and even dentures. Our doctors will assess your case and explain your treatment options that will best suit your needs to restore missing teeth.
Root Canals
A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth may become infected and abscesses may form.
“Root canal” is the term used to describe the natural cavity within the center of the tooth. The pulp or pulp chamber is the soft area within the root canal. The tooth’s nerve lies within the root canal.
